Today was a gorgeous sunny day with very little wind which gave a great opportunity to get DJI Mavic Pro out and do some flying and filming above the site before the destruction begins.
Today is the first day of physical work on the site. Ground&Water are carrying out drilling down to 15 metres deep to prepare the soil investigation report. This is essential for the calculations for the basement design. Drills! Ground&Water protecting our neighbours lawn: The equipment is on site! A sample collected from the drill: Deep hole: Collected soil samples for the analysis: We needed to use brutal force to get the drilling equipment to the old tennis court: The equipment is on the tennis court. This is the second and final hole
The day started with a pre-commencement meeting and planning with our arborist Alex and ecologist Mike Then the machinery arrived at 8:30am: Road safety first: First cut - clearing the entrance to the site: The entrance hedge is disappearing very quickly: Bolts on the grinding machine: The entrance is cleared and the machinery is on site: Bushes on the left are very established with thick trunks: and they are gone: Fly over the work in progress: Working hard: Starting on 2 large cypress trees: Lower part of cypress trees cleared: And they are gone:
