Pump chambers arrived

Image
These are huge and will need to be buried underground, surrounded by concrete. They need to be filled up with water as the concrete is poured because otherwise the concrete will burst them. Only this top part will be visible from the ground level. The pump will be lowered on chains inside.

Electric cable delivered

Gas pipe connection

Image
We removed the shrubs next to Moorcroft's House electric kiosk and dug under the hedge to install the new gas connection. This will allow us to divert Moorcroft gas services and remove their gas pipe that runs across our plot.  This pipe is preventing us from piling because it is very near the surface. Unfortunately, having problems with Scottish Gas who refuse to install a new gas meter due to Covid. This is even though SGN engineers are already here, installing the pipe.

Markups

Image
The manholes and the basement piling have been marked up. Unfortunately, as we later discovered the piling was marked 2.2 metres too far from the boundary and we had to re-mark.

Steel posts arrived

Image
These steel posts will be driven into the ground and used to hold the king post retaining wall on our boundary with Moorcroft House
